1 : Cochin - Varkala
Morning drive to Varkala (100 kms).
Upon
arrival in Varkala - check into the hotel Taj Garden Retreat.
 Varkala
is a small seaside town in Kerala, has been a Hindu pilgrimage site since the
12th Century. To this day, the 800 hundred year old Janardhana Temple remains
a popular pilgrimage spot. Varkala is also blessed with an unspoilt, golden beach,
lapped by the waters of the Indian Ocean.
Rest of the day free for own
activities.

Day 2 : Varkala
Morning visit the Portugese church of Anjengo dated to the time of occupation,
which maybe the Elanchoros of the geography of Ptomempee (2nd century A.D.). Also
visit the English Fort constructed in 1695 A.D. by the English 'East India Company'.
Afternoon free.
Overnight at hotel
 Day
3 : Varkala - Kumarakom
Morning drive to Kumarakom (100 kms), check
into hotel Taj Garden Retreat.
Kumarakom- is a beautiful backwater
village on the shores of the enchanting Vembanad Lake, criss crossed with meandering
waterways and ancient cottages.
Afternoon visit the superb Bird Sanctuary
in adjacent wooded marshland - which boasts of egrets, tree pies, black headed
orioles, bee-eaters & a whole host of herons.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 4 : Kumarakom
Fullday at leisure. (You can
opt for Ayurvedic therapy on direct payment basis).
Overnight at hotel.
Day 5 : Kumarakom - Periyar
Morning drive to Periyar (120
kms), check into hotel Taj Garden Retreat.
Periyar- Sprawling
across 777 sq. kms. of the Cardamom Hills of the Western Ghats, Thekkady is the
home to one of the largest wildlife reserves in India. Alive with exotic flora
and vibrant wildlife, it is the perfect getaway tucked away among hills.
 Afternoon
boatcruise on the Lake of the famous Periyar wildlife sanctuary to see wild
life. Periyar Lake or reservoir created by a dam on Periyar River is the heart
of the Wildlife Sanctuary wild elephants, Asiatic Deer, Black Buck and even Tigers
come to shores of the lake for a drink.
Thereafter at leisure to explore
the neighboring spice market.

6: Periyar
Fullday at leisure. (You can opt for Ayurvedic therapy
on direct payment basis).
Overnight at hotel.
Day 7 : Periyar
- Cochin
Morning drive to Cochin (160 kms).
Later transfer
to the airport for flight back home.
